Oh the weather outside is frightful....

Here we go...

Friday:
Johnny, Chelsea, Cortlin and I went to Galaxy to see The Rite. It's about the son of a mortician who goes to become a priest to escape the expectation to follow in his fathers footsteps. After one day he realizes he doesn't want to be a priest. But after witnessing a woman get hit by a car where she mistakes him for a priest and asks him to give her her last rights, he is convinced by his teacher to go to Rome for 2 months to take a course on becoming an exorcist.
This guy was super skeptical and didn't believe in any of it so he is sent to see Father Lukas (Anthony Hopkins) who is rather unorthadox and offers to show this guy proof of the Devil. He introduces her to this 16 year old pregnant girl who is possessed, but even tho he witnesses her many episodes he still doesn't believe it.
Many time he even confront the demon while she has hold of this girl, challenging it. The demon then kills the girl, throwing Father Lukas into a depression of guilt and doubt, making his suceptible to the Devil.
He then becomes possesed. etc etc etc
I won't give it all away, but basically it was super good. Very scary to me tho. Horror films revolving around religion always get to me way more then anything else.

I expected I would stay up late thinking about it, but only last night did it start to bother me a wee bit.

After the movie we went to Boston Pizza where Matt met up with us and we had a late supper.
Everyone pretty much went home after that.

Saturday:
Slept a solid ten hours which was glorious. Then Kayla and I went for dim sum for some sister sister time :) So that was good. I got to vent on some stuff that has been bugging me for a while, just little stupid things that I had just spent too much time thinking on haha.

AFter that we grabbed mom then went out and about. Didn't accomplish any shopping which I think was the original idea, but the quality time was good.

I suddenly remembered at one point that I had wanted to make an appetizer to bring to Cortlin's for the big Turduckin meal :)
So they dropped me off and I quickly went to the store.
Made some seafood stuffed mushrooms :) supper nummy! ALthough I felt like a big durp cause I forgot that Marge is allergic to shrimp :(

Then I went over there, and we ate a gigantic meal with the entire neighbourhood. Like 20 adults and 15 kids or something like that. The little kids were screaming and running around all over the place. One girl gave me a headache :(

Around 10 we went over to Landons.
I didn't stay long to be honest. Went and drove Kayla home, took Amber to McDonalds, brought them back to Landons where Cortlin came running down the driving yelling "Take me away from here!!"
SO we went to his house. He promptly fell asleep all curled up and cute, So I put on Michael Moore's "Sicko" about the American Health care. It was super good, like really really good. Made me feel lucky to be living in Canada where we don't have to worry about stuff like that.
Then of course I fell asleep too.
Got up around four to go home where I downloaded music until 5

Sunday:
Cortlin woke me up at ten saying we were going for dim sum...again.
Lol, too much dim sum for one weekend. I think I'll take a break for a few weeks.
After that I went home and took a nap.
Then we drove Kayla to the bus depot
Then we had supper
Then I went to bed.

And now I am at work and in a kinda sour mood. My car took forever to start and someone parked in my spot by the door so I had to park down the street :(

I'm excited for this weekend though!
Outerbanks! whoop whoop!
Snowmobiling kinda scares me in a I'm-gonna-die-I'm-going-too-fast kind of way.
I just hope it warms up a bit.
Otherwise I'm in trouble.

Papercuts and Sticky Buns

Last night I came home from work to my mother making copious ammounts of cinnamon buns. So of course I ate too many and felt yucky after :)

But, good news. Vampire Diaries started up again lasy night :)
So I was pretty much the happiest person on the planet.
I'm team Tyler and team Damon.
Screw you Steffan, you are boring and have zero character development.
Sam understands :) We had a nice conversation about it last night!

I also went for coffee with Brittney and James last night :)
it was James' first time coming out with us, and I hope he was ok with us staying there for like two and a half hours. We don't know the meaning of a short and sweet visit.
It was nice tho :)

So far work is slow as per usual. I decided to do the statements which are supposed to be done on Monday, but I really need something to make the time fly. Going through 300 customer files and mailing their statements happen to do just that.

Kayla is in town this afternoon as well :) So her and mom said that they are going to bring me lunch.

Tonight is awesome Friday.
And we are going to see The Rite, with Anthony Hopkins. Then I think a BPs chill time is in order.

Man up and pay up

SGI just called me, claiming that the license plate I gave them on the car that hit me was registered to a big rig truck, not a silver car like I had said.
So I asked them if they had called this Evan guy yet.
It wasn't his car, it was his cousin's.
But they said no. and they said until I figured out what car it was exactlly, the claim wouldn't hold up.
Shit
So. I called Evan, and he answers.
This is how our conversation went...

"Hey, Evan?"
"Sorry, you have the wrong number."
"No I don't."
"What?"
"This is the number you gave me when you hit my car two weeks ago. This is the number you texted me on last week."
"Oh...hang on one second."
*muffled talking*
"Hi Megan, sorry about that. What's up?"
"You gave me the wrong lisence plate number."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, its registered to a big rig truck."
"Oh.."
"So what's the real one?"
"Well I don't have the car with me."
"Then tell me the name of the owner of the car."
"My cousin."
"...."
"Ashton K."
"And the make and model of the car."
"Can we please not do this through SGI?"
"....No....make and model."
"Ford focus."
"Okay good. I'll be in touch."
God damnit. Am I gettign swindled ?

This weekend was pretty excellent I must say.

Friday:
Went to see No Strings Attached with Courteny. Parking was shit but the movie was actually pretty good I thought. I reccomend it for all the ladies out there haha.
After the movie I went and picked up Brittney for a coffee date. I had orange juice and it was delicious :) although the acid made my stomach super sad later on. Brit and I discussed Europe more, and man it feels like its a month away, not six. So the wait is going to suck.
Then I went to the Skuz for a whole of five minutes. I just wanted to see James and say thanks for the card and wine :)
Chelsea and Johnny wanted a ride home, so I accomplished that as well.
Picked up Cortlin who was home studying hard and was craving some McDicks. So we went there and then drove around for a good hour. I was about to take him on a tour of my favourite houses in the city when James asked if he, Chris and his sister could get a ride home from the bar. So we went and picked them up and then I went home :)

Sat:
I slept until noon :) it was amazing.
Then I got ready to go out for supper because it was Cortlin and mine's 1 year anniversary. So he picked me up at four and we went to the Keg :) I had a steak, which I don't think I've had in years. It was uber delicious, although my stomach had no idea what to do with it afterwords.
Then we went to his place and watched some movies until Boots came over and they gamed a bit.
It was a chill night.

Sun:
Went for breakfast with my Dad.
Went and ran some errands.
Searched my house high and low for my resumes so I could job hunt.
No dice

So I'll maybe do some job hunting after work today.
Sigh, two jobs suck

Things are looking Up

Yesterday started out a little rough.
Woke up in a horrible mood
Car wouldn't start
Mom had to drive me to work
Zero fun :(

BUT
Cortlin picked me up from work, what a doll :) and when I got home I went to get the mail, and I saw a letter from SIAST. Immediately I was like....wtf do they want now. They've tried to hinder me from going to school so many god damn times I had nearly given up. A few months ago I got a letter saying classes for Psychiatric Nursing were full AGAIN.
So I opened the letter
and the first thing I saw was "Congratulations...."
Not gonna lie, I cried. Then I called Kayla and Cortlin and my mom and Bob haha.

I can't believe it, after almost two years of fighting to get in and taking this test and that upgrade and that entrance exam, finally.
Now I have to save up!
I wonder if I'll be getting a letter from Edmonton too? I'm still waiting on the result of that application too.

So then Courteny Kevin and James (not w lol) and I went for drinks at Osheas. It was basically a coffee shop reunion which was nice.
I hope we do it again soon!

Then I went home, and as I walk in my mom is like "Theres a present for you by the stairs"
Totally baffled I go get this bag which has a nice bottle of wine in it and this note.

I teared up again for the second time that day. It was the sweetest most adorable thing ever. I didn't know James was so good at rhyming :)

And today is Friday so that just makes everything even better!

Sushi makes me happy, did you know that?

Yesterday was blah and cold. The bank rec put me in a horrible mood. Got down to 44.18 and I can not for the life of me find it. SIGH

But after work I went down to Circle to meet Chelsea for sushi.
Note: New Island on Circle is closed on Tuesdays :(
So in rush hour traffic I had to make it to Go For Sushi on 8th street. I hate circle. I hate circle most between 7-6 on weekdays. Just brutal. I drove like an asshole.

But sushi was super delicious. I'm actually a big fan of Go For Sushi. It's pretty much the same as new island, but new island has a better menu.
I had an awesome time catching up with Chelsea though :)

Then I went home with the intention of working out. But I ended up just watching Millionaire Matchmaker haha. Lazy is me.

Today is Wednesday
There is nothing special about Wednesday
And that's all I have to say about that.

Oh, and on a totally irrelevant side note...

Yesterday flew by. Dale came into work over the weekend and did a bunch of quoting, so when I came in on Monday I had an enormous pile of paperwork on my desk. So that took five hours, nbd lol. Plus all my usual work on top of that, my day flew by pretty quick.

Last night I did the usual.
Worked out
Watched Big Bang Theory. Cause that show is crack to my eyes. So good.

Tonight I'm meeting Chelsea for sushi!

I hope today flies by too, cause I din't pack a lunch :(

Times with the Kids

This weekend flew by, just like every other weekend. I feel like I never leave this desk to be honest, I just day dream the weekend events it seems.

Friday was James' belated birthday dinner.
So I picked up Chelsea and Cortlin and we went over there around 6:30. I know, I know I was late :( Not my fault tho, Cortlin had to kill the final boss haha.
We get there and our group of 15 needs three table. So we had two, but there was one table in between us of a random group that just would not leave. I swear they were doing it just to spite us.
Eventually they left and we ordered some food. I got a veggie burger, and oh man my stomach did not like it at all. Just crazy pain for the rest of the night.

After we went over to James' and chilled. Like super chilled. At one point James' dad comes downstairs and is like "you guys are boring" haha all we could do was mumble something about being tired and eating a big meal.

Saturday I got up early to go to Home Sense with my mommy :) I freaking love Home Sense. I want everything in there, but I settled for a baking pan shaped like hearts haha. Get ready for Valentines day, cause everyone is getting a mini heart cake.

Then I took a nap and then went over to Cortlin's. We ordered pizza and I drank a bit.
Then we went to the nieghbours house where we found out that Kirsten is pregnant, which is super super exciting cause they are hoping for twins :)

Sunday I woke up early again to meet Chelsey, Michelle and Sarah at the Sheraton for brunch. It was super delicious as usual, and it was nice to catch up with Chelsey and hear from Sarah what was all going on at Boffins.

Then I went home
and slept
and slept
and slept
woke up for supper
then watched the Big Bang Theory until bed time'
then I couldn't sleep at all :(

Just give me the Night

My wisdom teeth shifted again. Actually it feels like they are growing deeper. Cause holy shit it hurts. Constant ache and crazy pain if I open my mouth too wide or try to eat.
And no, I will not get rid of them haha
I have grown fond of them, even though they cause me great pain at least once a month. I just figure if I tough it out that it'll be ok eventually.

Anyway

Last night was fun.
First I got to talk to Sam for a while which was super awesome :) That girl and I need to talk more, cause I just love and adore her! So we caught up.
Then I went to Cortlin's to catch up with his parents haha. Haven't seen them since Christmas and I think Curtis was getting pretty upset that I stopped coming around for a while. I honestly love them, they're great. So I got to catch up with them as well :)

Then Cortlin and I went to Winstons to meet Courteny and Mallory.
Mal didn't show until about nine haha.
We were upstairs until a live Irish band started to play. They were excellent, but it got pretty loud so we went downstairs.
As soon as we get downstairs we hear a group of guys belting out "Hey now, your a rockstar" by Smashmouth haha. It was funny, they spent the entire night singing different anthems. One of the guys, whos name was HB (?) bought Mal and I a shot and called it sunshine, cause Mal is joy and sunshine :)
So we had a few good laughs.
It was sweet :)

And now it's Friday!
Last day of work before the weekend! yay weekend!
Tonight is James' belated birthday supper at Original Joes.
And then who knows what else the night will bring?

Good Morning Megan

On the way to work this morning some guy my age slides into me :( Took out a light on the side of my car. Which makes me think....who the hell has lights on the SIDE of the car. Like no one. Just my stupid car, and I don't think I've ever even seen them work.
Not alot of damage though. The only damage was this guy's existence. It wasn't even his car, he was driving his cousin's on account of he totaled his own car last night >_< What a durp. Not impressed. Not one bit.

On a positive note. I got to use my lasagne pan last night. It is amazing.

Back to the grind

Last night's coffee with Liz was most excellent :) I miss her so much, and I really hate her busy schedule, but I understand it. Pharmacy can't be the easiest path to choose.
So we got to catch up, which was wonderful!

Then I had to go and pick up my parents from the airport.
They have this new "cellphone" parking lot. Where basically you wait in this designated lot until your family gets off the plane, gets their bags, and then calls you. Then you can just drive right up to the front and not have to pay. So it's kind of awesome.
Although their flight was late so sitting in a car isn't super fun by any means.

Being at the airport makes me think of Europe!
Gah, July come sooner.

Mom got me a GI Joe shirt lol.
I've never seen GI Joe before, but she says its what I get for keeping the house nice haha.
Not gonna lie, I'm kinda in love with it. All the characters are fist pumping to the sky, it's great.

This morning I woke up to the radio telling me that it was going to be -38 with the windchill:(

the office stays quiet these days, which sucks for me. At least the guys in the back can use their spare time to weld something fun lol

After work I'm having coffee with Liz :) I'm super pumped, cause I always miss that girl :)

This weekend flew by way way way too fast for me :(

Friday after work and a quick run to the dentist, I started making the supper I had been planning for a while. Beef wellington is not the easiest recipe, not gonna lie.
Gotta make this puree which sucks when my food processor was being a big bitch. Then I had to sear this huge chunk of tenderloin to keep it juicy. Then you have to wrap it in this ham with the puree. Put it in the fridge for 30 min so it keeps its round shape. Then roll out puff pastry, then wrap it around the meat, then cook it for 45 min.
Long process. But very worth it :)
Way more protein then I'm used to, but I guess thats ok every once in a while.

Then we watched a bit of Black Knight which was super fantastic, nostalgia right there.

Went to James' for a little bit to visit with everyone.
Then we went back home and started to watch The Other Guys, but of course I fell asleep almost right away. Guess I was more tired then I thought.

Saturday Cortlin and I were uber lazy until pretty much 5 in the afternoon.
Then he went home to study and I got to get ready to go out with the gang to Tequila :)
Started at James' and around 11 went to pick up Brittney and headed out.

It was a super good time actually. I missed just going out to the bars to dance, I don't do it nearly enough. Although next time I will be sure to not wear such stupid heels. By two I was dying and could do nothing more but stand there and sway :(
Got to see some people from Concourse which was nice.

Drove Britt, Johnny, Court and Dave home.
Just pulled into my driveway when Josh txt me asking if I could drive him and Sean to mcdicks. lol I said sure.
We get to mcdicks, they go inside and when they get out Sean gets in the backseat and is like ..... "Where's James?"
Told SEan he was at home lol and then he got all mad cause he was determined that someone had been in the backseat with him the whole time >_<

Sunday I did nothing. Watched so much Tosh.0 that I got a headache.

Today I'm back at work with a big cup of coffee, which was a bad idea to have as breakfast. Already my head is spinning :(

Yesterday dragged on and on like no ones business :(
After work I went to the grocery store to stock up on things I needed to make supper for Cortlin today :) Beef Wellington and blue cheese mashed potatoes, and some zuchinni. Aren't I just the greatest. Jk, lets see how bad I can mess up the wellington.

At six I went downtown to the Freehouse to meet up with dear Hilah :) Haven't seen her lovely face in ages. Michelle and Catherine suprised me by coming as well, which was awesome. I miss working with Cat at Outlaws so much sometimes :(
Apparently Blair would be willing to take me back in a heart beat? Tempting, I do miss the money, but then I remember how much I am NOT a bar star and I hesitate. Something to think about anyway!

I had this miso wrap. It was meh. I don't like miso, so I have no idea what posessed me to get it.
Oh well, the company was good :)

Why?
Because for the past few nights he has woken me up 3-4 times every god damn night cause he's gotta pee. I know I know, better then him peeing everywhere, right?
But if you know me, you know how I feel about my sleep. I don't like being interrupted. I rage when I am interrupted. So yeah, I wanted to kill him. If it was summer I would make him sleep outside cause I'm a big jerk like that.

This experience has made me realize that I would be a shitty mom if I were to have a baby right now haha. Staying up all night would lead to horrible child rearing on my part.

So when I move out and need a companion, I'm getting a cat. Cause they take care of themselves.

Past few nights have been uneventful. Just worked out on the new bike and watched tv like a champion.

Tonight I am having supper with Hilah :)
I'm pretty excited because I haven't seen her for so long! So it shall be grand.

Tomorrow is Friday, thank god.
I'm going to make Cortlin supper
because he's had a stressful week
and I'm just awesome like that.

Excuse me if I seem to be Rude, But tonight I'm....

So I decided to try and check my application status on MacEwan, but turns out its down until sometime today or tomorrow >_<
I assumed that the tuition was the same as SIAST in Saskatchewan. Fuck no, instead of the first year costing 7500 its freaking 9500?!?!?! So yeah, the whole thing is going to cost me a whole lot more money then I originally thought :(
I'll have to start looking at loans to see if I can qualify for something. And scholarships.
Le Sigh.

I love being home alone though.
I got home, made myself a tuna sandwich and watched an episode of TRuBlood.
Then I tried out the new excercise bike, read and went to bed.
Just whatever I freaking want.

Today is somewhat boring.
Most exciting part was I got a shit ton of mail, and my office calendar came in :)

The Christmas Break

Oh man this is going to be a long post....

Christmas Eve:
Went to work tired as hell on account of I went out the night before to see Little Fockers with the Kings/Frebergs+Daniels+Hendriks. Then I went to Courteny's to chat and exchange lovely gfits. It was a later night then I expected to have.
Work only went until noon thank God. At 11:30 Clayton comes up to me and says "Megan, you look thirsty" and then he proceeds to hand me a big cup of rum and coke. Sure, why not, it's Christmas?
Then I went home, got ready to go to Vonda for my family's Xmas tradition.
Picked up Cortlin and then we were off!
Got there and of course there is food everywhere. Cortlin decided to wear his Christmas sweater that he wore at Ambers, which my family aplauded him for his bravery :-p
We had our first dinner which consisted of everything except for meat. So perogies, cabagge rols, salads, etc etc. Cortlin was forced to try our starter dish of honey wheat which is literally just wheat, honey and water. Lol it was funny to watch him choke that down.
Then we sat and chatted for a bit before church. My uncle comes up to me and says "hey get the cousins together and Cortlin and lets do a bunch of shots before church" Oh uncle Kim. So I made us all a strange mixture of whatever I could find and it turned out not so bad. I came up with a "Toast to JC, Happy Birthday man" which didn't seem to please my Grandmother, but it was funny at the time.
Then we drove out to ST. Denis where church would be held. I decided to not tell Cortlin the it was 85% in French until he looked at the program haha. It was a long hour for him :-p
Went back to Vonda and had our second meal which was our meat meal. So ham rolls, meat pie, more perogies, etc etc.
I love our traditions.
Then we opened gifts :) Then we went home to sleep around 1 in the morning

Christmas Day:
Woke up at six, showered quickly then went to wake everyone up because I'm a big jerk like that. The four of us had our traditional glass of sparkling juice or something to toast to Christmas, then we opened gifts again!
At 8:30 Cortlin and his family came over to pick me up to go out to Medicine Hat.
Got in around 2 and immediately ate a big dinner haha. Not gonna lie, Cortlin's Grandma makes a killer stuffing. super delicious. Oh and some pink whipped thing with fruit in it. nom nom
Then we all sat down to open gifts, and before we did, The whole family suddenly broke out into Christmas carols lol. Not just any Christmas carols, but perfectly harmonized ones haha. It was actually really nice.
Cortlin's grandpa in a pastor which made me a bit nervous to sit and talk with. I've met him before, but I was worried about what he'd think of me not being very religious :( But honestly, he was one of the sweetest man ever. Adore him. Curtis showed me a bunch of old photos and keepsakes from his childhood. He called all the old stuff junk, but i honestly love that kind of stuff.
Then we played multiple games including catch phrase and things :) it was super fun, their family is really quite close.

Boxing Day:
Woke up totally clueless where I was haha I hate those moments.
Had a quick breakfast with the Daniels, then we were back on the road. I'm glad I went, their family made me feel super welcome :)
Turns out a week later Cortlin's cousin Jeradan and his gf Jill who had been at Christmas got engaged! He's only 24 which is young, but its still super exciting :) so congrats to them!
Got home at 4:30, went home and changed, then went to get Cortlin and go straight to dinner with my Dad and Kayla and Hiro :) It was super nummy :)

Then Cortlin and I went to Winstons for JOhnny's birthday :) It was nice to see everyone after a long weekend of family time.
Aroudn 11 we went to Scratch. Stayed there for a bit, then Cortlin wanted to go home. I wasn't really ready to go home so I dropped him off then went right back lol.
Stayed for maybe another hour then peaced.

Monday:
Got up, showered, then went and picked up the lovely Hannah :)
Honestly, I missed that girl. I've had my sore issues with her in the past when I felt neglected, but she's just one of those friends that I always just fall right back in sync with, no matter how long we don't talk.
So we went and got coffee then sat on the top floor of the Midtown and just people watched and talked for a couple of hours.

I don't remember if I did anything for the rest of the day... hmm

Tuesday:
I think this was a chill day?
oh ya, a bunch of us went to Bugsys that night for the last wing night. They clsoed at the end of the month so it was one last time there :) so good

Wednesday:
Had lunch with Courteny at Alexanders. I've never been there before but it was actually really good, I was craving a burger. Once again I got a weird look from the server when I asked for peanut butter :*(
Then we went downtown cause I had to give something back to my mom :)
AT 3 I met Cortlin at Galaxy and we saw Black Swan. It was actually pretty good. definitly trippy thats for sure, pretty dirty lesbo scene, but overall good. Although Portmans constant scared expression irritated me.
After that we went back to Cocos, I got icecream for supper :)
People came over for some drinking and fun times of Catch Phrase. It was the game of the season I swear...

Thursday:
Chill downtime
Oh! and Brittney and I booked our Europe trip
YYYYYYEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
can't even describe how pumped I am

New Years Eve:
I woke up to an empty house! Lol the rents had left super early for Arizona so I was pretty stoked to have the house to myself.
SO I child proofed the house the the New Years party to come.
Then Cortlin and I went for delicious sushi. I had been craving it so damn bad :)
chilled until seven.
Then the party started.
Not sure how to even go into a bunch of detail.
It was fun :) I didn't get too wasted which was perfect! Didn't drink any of Chris' stupid tequila which was even more perfect :-p
Big mess but oh well, I got to ring in the new year with all my fav people :)
And my stove didn't get broken :)

Then went and had coffee with Brittney!!!! Cause shes my lover and I love her :)
Then we went back to my house and a few people came over. Had the intention of drinking but decided against it. So people smoked hookah and guess what? more Catch Phrase :)
